Lyrics
DANGEROUS CURVES AHEAD
by
Robert A. Wilders
I was drifting to a faraway place.
When I saw her caught by her beautiful face.
I asked her if I could give her a lift.
As she leaned close and I gave her perfume a whiff.
She said, “You can take me anywhere you like.”
So she came along for more than one night.
I should have known it wouldn’t end right.
I’d bit off more than one man can bite.
You gotta beware of the winding road.
Go on the green. Stop on the red.
Listen to what you always been told.
Listen to what your Mama said. Your Mama said:
“There’s just one thing I want you to know.
Before you lay down in your bed.
Boy there’s dangerous curves ahead.
I say boy there’s dangerous curves ahead.”
She said she was a belly dancer.
Well I could tell she was no Sunday school teacher.
She moved her body like a real snake charmer.
As she moved closer I felt everything get warmer.
I tried to keep my hands on the wheel.
But no woman ever made me feel like she made me feel.
When she kissed my cheek it gave me such a thrill.
Then she moved on over ‘n went in for the kill.
(repeat chorus)
It was somewhere near the interstate line.
Just when I thought everything was going fine.
She made a U turn and changed her mind.
Sped away leaving me behind.
So now I’m driving all alone.
Trying to figure out where it went wrong.
Tracing my steps back to the start.
Trying to find some way to fix my damaged heart.
(repeat chorus)
